Over the summer holidays our Engineering Foundation Apprentices took on the challenge of a two-week work placement with a local engineering company.

Daisy would like a career in science and as part of the school’s work experience programme, she decided to spend the week working in the Science department at the Kilwinning Campus of Ayrshire College.

Ayrshire Smiles was set up by the Ayrshire & Arran Tourist Board, and this inspired Diageo Learning for Life Hospitality and Bartending student Russell to write the following Ode to Ayrshire.

Starting a business was an idea that had been brewing in Stuart Pell’s head for a number of years. So this summer, with plenty of experience behind him in the hospitality sector (he has previously managed a couple of Ayrshire restaurants), he finally decided to ditch his advertising job and start a mobile coffee business.
