Modern Apprenticeships
Modern Apprenticeships are a great way for students to combine work experience, college practical learning and theory to make sure they are fully prepared for the industry. (Apprenticeships | Apprenticeships.scot: Work, Learn & Earn).
By giving employees, over the age of 16, an opportunity to work in a paid job while undertaking work-based or part-time study, you will help develop employees with the increased skills and confidence required to develop your business. By creating a highly motivated workforce, the scheme can help boost employee retention and commitment to your company. Many Modern Apprentices move on to senior management positions within the organisation.
Modern apprenticeship usually consists of a work-based SVQ, academic component done in college and core skills (Communications, Numeracy, ICT, Problem Solving, Working With Others) at an appropriate SCQF level.
Ayrshire College supports Modern Apprenticeships in: Hairdressing, Engineering, Aircraft Engineering, Hospitality, Construction/Plumbing, Life Sciences, Food and Drink Operations (Brewing) and Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
