GP42 22 SVQ Scientific, Technical and Formulation Processing SCQF Level 5

This work-based qualification is suitable for technical staff working in an industrial context controlling processing operations and performing sampling/testing (e.g. water, BOD, COD etc). The three mandatory units of the award cover team working, health and safety, and problem solving techniques. Candidates must also complete six optional units from three groups: Process, Engineering and Lab giving the award a broad scope and adaptability for a variety of processing operation roles.

 

 

GP44 23 SVQ Laboratory and Associated Technical Activities (Educational Science) SCQF Level 7

This work-based qualification is suitable for technical staff working in an educational context (e.g. Secondary School/College Science technicians) The qualification covers areas such as health and safety, working relationships, and evaluating and providing scientific or technical assistance for learning activities as mandatory component while providing a choice of optional units ranging from diagnosing and repairing equipment, maintaining stocks, demonstrating scientific techniques and testing and evaluating methods for learning activities.

 

 

GP46 23 SVQ Laboratory and Associated Technical Activities (Industrial Science) SCQF Level 7

This work-based qualification is suitable for technical staff working in a Science industry setting. The qualification covers areas such as health and safety, working relationships, testing operations, communicating scientific or technical information, and providing technical advice and guidance as mandatory components with a choice of optional units that cover science tasks such as complex scientific or technical sampling/testing, measuring/weighing compounds and preparing solutions for laboratory use, maintaining stocks and equipment, small scale processing.

 

GP4N 23 SVQ Laboratory Skills (Life Science) SCQF Level 6

This work-based qualification is suitable for staff working as technicians in educational, industrial or clinical context. The award covers areas such as maintaining health and safety procedures and effective and efficient working relationships as mandatory components and offers a broad range of units covering general life science tasks such as preparing solutions, maintaining stocks and equipment, working with automated and manual testing equipment and small scale processing.

This qualification covers areas such as following health and safety procedures and maintaining effective and efficient working relationships.


GP4P 23 SVQ Laboratory Skills (Life Science) SCQF Level 7

This work-based qualification is suitable for staff working as technicians in educational, industrial or clinical context. The award covers areas such as maintaining health and safety procedures and effective and efficient working relationships as mandatory components and offers a broad range of units covering specialist life science analytical techniques such as PCR/qPCR, Light Microscopy, gel electrophoresis, gas Chromatography, as well as handling biological samples and growing/maintaining Cell lines in aseptic environment.

  

SVQ Food and Drink Operations (Brewing) at SCQF Level 5

This work-based qualification is suitable for It is suitable for brewery operators that are trained to deal with routine tasks. The award covers areas such as food safety standards in manufacture, malt handling, milling, brewing, mashing and conversion, wort boiling, cooling, fermentation, maturation and conditioning.

 

 

GP43 23 SVQ in Scientific, Technical and Formulation Processing at SCQF Level 6

Three mandatory units cover assessment of risks in the workplace in processing industries operations, effective and efficient working relationships, and problem solving activities. Candidates must also complete six optional units from two groups: Process and Engineering making the pathway suitable for a range of job roles.

 

GP45 23 SVQ in Laboratory and Associated Technical Activities (Industrial Science) at SCQF Level 6

This work-based qualification is suitable for technical staff working in a Science industry setting performing sampling/testing operations. The qualification covers areas such as health and safety, working relationships, and information recording systems and can include elements of stock control, equipment maintenance, preparing reagents and compounds.
