GL88 47 SVQ Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair at SCQF Level 7

This is a motor industry qualification aimed at service technicians working on light vehicles (private car, pick -up or van not larger than a Transit – type) in all types of garages, dealerships and maintenance depots. Qualification covers health and safety in the workplace, diagnosis and rectification of faults of engine and components, chassis system faults, electrical unit and components. The qualification also addresses diagnosis and rectification of vehicle transmission and driveline system faults, overhauling mechanical units and identifying and agreeing customer vehicle needs.

GL8A 47 SVQ Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair at SCQF Level 7

This is a motor industry qualification aimed at service technicians working on heavy vehicles (lorries, trucks, emergency vehicles, specialist vehicles heavier than 3.5 metric tons) in all types of garages, dealerships and maintenance depots. Qualification covers health and safety in the workplace, diagnosis and rectification of faults of engine and components, chassis system faults, electrical unit and components. The qualification also addresses diagnosis and rectification of vehicle transmission and driveline system faults, overhauling mechanical units and identifying and agreeing customer vehicle needs.
