Overview

Do you have a DSLR camera and would like to get the most out of it? Or have you had one for a while and haven't got to grips with its controls? If you can answer yes to either of these questions, or have a strong interest in improving your existing photography skills, then this is the class for you.

Course Content

You should own your own fully manual camera (DSLR or mirrorless) and will need to bring this along to class. Here you will learn about the features of your camera and its controls. You'll also learn about the basic principles involved in composing and shooting an effective photograph. You should also have some basic computer skills and knowledge as you will look at some basic digital photo editing using Lightroom.
You will learn through a range of activities such as tutor demonstrations and workshops, as well as class discussion and through self and peer evaluation. By the end of the course you will have produced an array of photographs for your own pleasure or to support an application to one of our full time courses

Next Steps

On successful completion of this course and depending on the examples you have produced, you may progress to either:
• Advanced Digital Photography (Evening Course)
• Introduction to Photography (Full-Time Course)
• Access to Photography (Full-Time Course
• Level 6 Photography (Full-Time Course)
