Overview
This course is for people of any age who would like to develop or refresh their skills and gain confidence. It offers students a high level of support and nurturing, while creating independence. This course meets the needs of applicants who have a learning disability and/or are Autistic.
Students come to college 2 hours per week and will achieve a qualification at SCQF Level 1.
Students have the option to combine this with Discover: Cookery to study 4 hours per week.
Course Content
This course focuses on helping students become more independent in their learning, life and work. It helps them to consolidate existing skills, learning new skills and make targets of what they would like to achieve in the future.

Here's just some of what students will be doing whilst exploring different themes of healthy lifestyles:
Understanding the importance of personal hygiene and how to maintain it.
Gain knowledge about the different health services available and what they do.
Guest speakers to talk to us about oral hygiene and keeping our teeth in good shape.
Outside activities to explore themes of exercise and wellbeing from walks, sporting activities and games
Examining what we eat and how we can eat better to keep healthy.
This course will enable those living independently to gain the skills to take care of themselves in terms of their health.
