Early Years

Are you interested in learning the skills to provide high quality care and education for children? This Level 5 course is designed to support your next steps towards a career in Early Years. Running from January to June, this is a fast-track course delivered over an 18-week period.

You will have the opportunity to develop your own confidence and skills whilst learning about the Early Learning and Childcare Sector. With your new skills you could one day be the difference in a child's life.

For entry to this course, you will need:

• A real interest in children's learning and development
• 5 National 4s including English, or
• A relevant course at SCQF Level 4
• An interview with us

If you don't have formal qualifications, but have life experience, then we'll also consider you for a place, so please call us for a chat.

This course includes both hands-on practical experiences and essential theory.

Here's just some of what your will learn:

• How to care for and support the feeding of children under 5.
• The range of settings available in the Early Learning and Childcare sector.
• You will be introduced to the importance of children's rights.
• Developing your own confidence and skills through project-based learning and volunteering.
• Learning the theory behind why play is so important to young children's learning.
