Entry Requirements
We’re looking for someone with a real interest in engineering and at least one of the following:
- a minimum of one relevant Higher at grade C or above
- a relevant NC course at SCQF Level 6 or equivalent, such as NC Fabrication and Welding Engineering
- a Foundation Apprenticeship in Engineering

Course Content
Immerse yourself in a curriculum that combines theoretical knowledge with practical skills. In this course, you may:
- develop an understanding of fabrication, including marking out fabrication engineering drawings
- explore specialised welding processes for specific applications
- enhance practical skills in various welding processes
- learn to design and manufacture metal containers
- understand basic inspection systems in the fabrication industry
- explore value engineering techniques
- operate a commercial CAD system for 2D engineering drawings
- learn engineering management theory that can be applied to effective engineering supervision, planning, production control, quality management, Health & Safety and risk assessment
