Entry Requirements

We’re looking for someone with a real interest in engineering and at least one of the following:

  • a minimum of one relevant Higher at grade C or above
  • a relevant NC course at SCQF Level 6 or equivalent, such as NC Fabrication and Welding Engineering
  • a Foundation Apprenticeship in Engineering

Course Content

Immerse yourself in a curriculum that combines theoretical knowledge with practical skills. In this course, you may:

  • develop an understanding of fabrication, including marking out fabrication engineering drawings
  • explore specialised welding processes for specific applications
  • enhance practical skills in various welding processes
  • learn to design and manufacture metal containers
  • understand basic inspection systems in the fabrication industry
  • explore value engineering techniques
  • operate a commercial CAD system for 2D engineering drawings
  • learn engineering management theory that can be applied to effective engineering supervision, planning, production control, quality management, Health & Safety and risk assessment
