Entry Requirements

To apply for our HND Art and Design course, you'll need:

  • an HNC Art and Design with a minimum of 15 credits
  • successful completion of an interview with us
  • a portfolio showcasing your artistic work

Course Content

During this course, you may:

  • enhance your painting skills, develop techniques, and create your own painting series
  • create portfolios for both developmental and observational drawings
  • master the art of selecting, framing, and exhibiting your work professionally
  • explore art and design context, delving into contemporary art issues and specific areas
  • conduct your research on a chosen topic and compile a sketchbook of your visual research
  • study conceptual development within contemporary art practice from 1900 to the present day
  • explore the role of digital media in art and design, creating your own concept visuals
  • engage in class exhibitions, external showcases, community projects, and competitions
  • play an active role in our Creative Department's Annual End of Year Show and organise fundraising activities for exhibitions
