Overview
This course is for young people who would like to develop their independent living skills. They may be planning to live independently or have their own tenancy.
It offers students a high level of support and nurturing, while creating independence. This course meets the needs of applicants who have a learning disability and/or are Autistic.
Students come to college 12 hours per week and will achieve a qualification at SCQF Level 2.
Course Content
You will explore:
- how to create weekly planners to help you organise your time
- budgeting for bills, shopping, and other items
- cooking healthy, filling meals on a budget
- operating household devices such as washing machines, irons, ovens, and learning how to use household cleaners safely
- personal safety in everyday life and online
- personal care and wellbeing
This course will enable students to feel more confident and equipped with the right skills to live independently.
