Our Police Studies 1 course is your stepping stone to make a real difference. You'll get information on the Scottish Judicial System, tackle real-world challenges, and even get your fitness up to scratch.

- Must be eligible for the PVG scheme
If you don't have formal qualifications but have life experience, then we'll also consider you for a place, so please do apply. It is also desirable for you to have some community experience, either work experience or voluntary work with the community.
Course Content
Here's what you may learn:
- Criminology: Understand the 'why' behind the crime.
- social issues: Get to grips with what's affecting our communities and explore elements of equality and diversity.
- communication: Learn how to negotiate and defuse situations.
- ICT: Master the tech you'll need on the job.
- personal fitness: maintain a level of fitness and why personal fitness is important, to aid entry examination
Next Steps and Career Opportunities
Upon completion of Police Studies 1 you may wish to progress to Police Studies 2 or HNC courses in Social Science.
