Entry Requirements

  • Three National 4s or relevant Standard Grades, with a preference for Maths and a technical subject
  • Alternatively, a relevant NC course at SCQF Level 4 or equivalent
  • Successful completion of the Pre-apprenticeship in Plumbing at SCQF Level 4
  • An interview and/or practical entry test

  • Introduction to domestic water supply systems
  • Energy and energy conservation
  • Plumbing services: an introduction
  • Basic plumbing operations
  • Basic heating and ventilation operations
  • Discharge systems: an introduction
  • Prepare and secure domestic plumbing appliances: an introduction
  • Install and connect domestic appliances
  • Microbore pipe and introduction to basic refrigeration
  • Install and connect heating emitters
  • Practical craft project

 

Plus, build transferable essential skills in communication, numeracy, ICT, teamwork and problem solving.
