Ayrshire set to Reclaim the Night
On Tuesday 7 December, there will be coordinated Reclaim the Night walks across Ayrshire as part of 16 days of action, an international call to prevent and end violence against women and girls.
Each local Violence Against Women (VAW) partnership, of which Ayrshire College is a member of, have chosen to hold Reclaim the Night walks on the same day as a mark of how united they are in demanding safer streets and lives for women and girls.
Ayrshire College’s Equality and Inclusion Advisor, Sara Turkington said: "This is a first in Ayrshire to hold coordinated Reclaim the Night walks in this way and I am really proud that the College has played a part in this. It is important that we continue to show solidarity with our local partners and communities so the message is very clear that women and girls are entitled to live their lives free from any form of gender-based violence and that we will take actions to bring about this change."
